We are in need of people that will donate their skills and some time to help others that are being affected with this chronic disease.
If we accept your work, we will give you, the author/artist full credit for your work, including a link to any associated website/blog of your choice. Our goal is to help people. Please include any images you would like to use in your article. Images must be royalty free.
The Diabetic Friend is a not for profit for the growing number of people with diabetes as well as their family and friends who want to know more about controlling and managing their diabetes. Our readers need up-to-date and authoritative information on nutrition, pharmacology, exercise, medical advances, self-help, and a host of other how-to subjects. We address the day-to-day and long-term concerns of our readers in a positive and upbeat manner and enable them to make informed choices about managing their diabetes.
Our audience ranges from the person newly diagnosed with diabetes who has little knowledge of the condition to people who have been intimately involved in their own treatment for many years and often know more about diabetes than well-informed health writers. We do not assume knowledge of our audience, but we do assume intelligence and are careful not to talk down to our readers.
Most articles range between 350 and 1,000 words. We do however accept works outside of that range.
Use plain English; avoid medical jargon, but where appropriate for understanding, explain technical terms in simple, easily understood language. Writing style should be simple, upbeat, and leavened with tasteful humor where possible. Information should be accurate, up-to-date, and from reliable sources. If you are referencing information for your article please remember to credit the source! Bulleted lists, tips, photos, tables, charts, and sidebars are useful when they help explain or complement the text. Authors are encouraged to include with their article a list of suggested reading.
Article manuscripts must be submitted via e-mail to: the Editor
